The Dargah of Salim Chishti stands in the great courtyard of Fatehpur Sikri near Agra — a jewel of white marble lattice that holds the tomb of the Sufi saint Sheikh Salim Chishti. The emperor Akbar built the city here in the saint's honour after his blessing was believed to grant the emperor a long-awaited son.
To this day devotees, especially those longing for children, tie threads to the marble screens and make a dua, trusting in the saint's blessing.
